Description

RG 7 String

Available with several popular humbucker pickup options including DiMarzio, Bare Knuckle and Seymour Duncan.  Choose from either Hipshot or Floyd Rose (posts only) bridge options.  The headstock can be used as-is but is large enough to cut many popular "pointy" styles.  The headstock is provided as a separate piece so you can create reverse or standard headstock orientations.

Specifications:

  • 24 fret, 25.5" scale length
  • Nut width: 1-7/8" (1.875") / 47.625mm
  • 24th fret width: 2-1/2" (2.50") / 63.5mm

This set is also available in a 6 String Version.

1/2" MDF with engraved center lines and reference markings.

Requires body blank minimum 19" x 13" (48cm x 33)

    This great template is made from nice, thick MDF. I picked this up with the additional 27 inch conversion kit and had the body cut to EMG 7 string soapbar pickups. I had a very pleasant experience dealing with Mike. The folks at Potvin Guitars are friendly and easy to deal with.

    Great templates, nice and thick with clear center lines. I will be ordering more templates in the future, thats for sure!

    I took a guitar building course that used a modified version of this template and I was so blown away by the results that I simply HAD to get my own set. The MDF is sturdy and thick, with plenty of room for the bearing to ride on. The edges are perfectly straight (trust me, that's not the case when your templates come from elsewhere), and the engraving (text and centerline) is crisp and clear. As an add-on to this set, Mike was able to make a 2nd set of neck and fingerboard templates to give it a 27" scale with 25 frets! If you want to make a 7 string, this template set is simply the best there is.
