Control Cavity Template Set

The template arrived quickly and we put her to use immediately . The accuracy was incredible. We used all three components . The main cavity, the lip for the cover , and the cover itself. all fit perfectly ! We made a rosewood cover to match the clients fingerboard. He was very happy too. I couldn't find a set like this anywhere in Australia,after much searching I found the Potvin page. Absolute lifesaver!!!! No-one else offers a perfectly cut set of templates for what i always thought must be a high demand job, from thick mdf that's ready to go out of the box and at great prices. I opened the package today to find a handwritten note from Mike included, thanking me for my order and my patience!!! One of the great guys right there!!!!! Can't thank you enough! :-)

Mike's templates are miles ahead of the cheaper plastic templates that you can buy. With this set, fit and matching between the three pieces was perfect. The extra thickness of these is especially helpful for routing the recess for the cavity cover - since this needs to be fairly shallow, a nice thick template is required to be able to route it without needing an insanely short router bit. These are ready to use just as received, without the need to make a copy on thicker material.

Thank you for making a template that is usable right out of the box. Most are too thin and unsafe, requiring you to make a new set from thicker stock. The 3 piece set is another plus. The cover plate template is included...and fits well. I likey! JA Swearengin, CC Texas

This is a really nice set. Everything lines up perfectly. The quality is great and the cuts are perfect. Plus 3/4" MDF just makes more sense than thin plastic. Well worth the money.

Mike never ceases to amaze. These are great templates, and worth twice the price when compared to the time they save by avoiding "cut-close-to-the-line-and-sand-to-fit" time and frustration. Buy these. In fact, buy THEM ALL

one of my pet hates is guitars with non recessed cavity covers. This set is spot on, not only do you get a decent sized cavity template, but a template for the recessed cover and a cover template! All in 3/4" MDF that you don't need to mess around with to be able to use. Best set I've seen and absolutely perfect for what I want! Thanks Mike

I bought these to use on some guitars requiring more space in the control cavity (coil splits, perhaps a piezo) and wasn't disappointed. These are way better than the cheap plastic or low grade pressboard templates. They are thick enough for the bearing to ride on the edge without any gouging and the size is perfect. You can't beat the price either.
