Description
Here's a foolproof method to route those tiny slots for blade switches such as those on an S-Style or T-Style guitar. Requires a 1/2" guide bushing collar for your router (not included).
1/2" MDF
Router Guide Bushings 101: A guide bushing mounts to the router's sub-base with a tube that protrudes below. A straight router bit extends through the tube. The outer surface of the tube rides against an edge guide or template, keeping the bit a set distance (offset) from the edge guide or template. Handy
The first time I routed a selector switch, I had to set up a board with the flat side of my router, and try to mark the start and stop points... long story. It worked, but it was a lot of hassle. This makes it really simple, and it is accurate. If it is possible to CNC these out of acrylic, since there is a bushing used instead of a flush trim bit, I think that would make it even better... Also maybe a smaller bushing could be used, so the template wouldn't have to be moved for the second step (just thoughts, Mike knows what he is doing). But I have built a lot of guitars with this, and can't imagine not having it around.

BLADE SWITCH TEMPLATE
Works perfectly. Mike was very quick to answer my questions and very helpful. I will be buying from him again.

By far the most useful template I own
This thing has made a complicated task significantly easier. I struggled for years to figure out a good way to consistently route the switch slot for a blade switch by hand, both on bodies and pickguards. I'd give this thing 100 stars if I could. It has a permanent home in my template bin.

Blade Switch Template
My customer ordered a custom Tele body from Warmoth but neglected to have them route the slot and screw holes for the rear loaded blade switch. I contacted Mike and he rushed one of these out to me. I literally had this task finished an hour after I received the template from Fed-Ex!
